Insomnia Cookies at Temple

Do you attend Temple University in Philadelphia? If you do, chances are you have seen that Insomnia Cookies has just opened up. This is great news if you have insomnia and a constant hunger for cookies!

The cookie company started at Penn State in 2003 and hasn't stopped since. The Insomnia Cookies are sold from a large truck, which is purple with the logo on it of course. The one at Temple is located in the center of campus for those that did not see it already.

Temple University is the 10th location Insomnia Cookies has conquered with its delicious baking.

Minnie's Moonlight Madness 2009

Minnie's Moonlight Madness is a charity event that takes plance at the Disney parks for cast memebers, along with their friends and family. Everybody is split into groups of 4, one person has to be a cast member. You walk into the park in the evening and can buy food, pins, and event souvenirs. The first part of the event is a trivia contest that you perform with your group. All of the questions are related to the theme park.

After that a scavenger hunt takes place. Your group must be tied together with a rope. Sometimes you have to sing, sometimes you have to dance. Points are accumulated according to the difficulty of the challenge. Are you going to Moonlight Madness this year? Share your input on previous years you have gone and the Moonlit fun you have had!

Christie and Bobby Baskin Found

After about 20 years of going missing, Christie and Bobby Baskin have been found in San Jose. They had been kidnapped by their grandparents who had claimed they did it because the kids were being abused by their parents.

At the moment there is no news as to whether the children (now adults), wish to see their parents. The names that Christie and Bobby go by now are Jennifer and Jonath

an Bunting.

Mark Baskin, the father has said "I'm a little bit fearful of what they think about us, because they have been brainwashed for 20 years."

The mother, Debbie Baskin has said "It's a blessing to know that they were alive and well."

So that is about all of that really. It is a lot of family stuff, and not really worth reporting the rest of the details. The Grandpop is going to be held in the court of law and the case will continue as time goes on.

Jasmine Pilchard Gosnell Pictures

As many have now found out, there are rumors going around that Paul Walker has gotten enganged to his 19 year old girlfriend, Jasmine Pilchard Gosnell. Walker is 35 years old and according to sources had started dating Gosnell when she was 16. A little strange? Yeah, I think so.

However, sources claim that Paul was not intimidated by her age.... a little strange? Yeah I think so.

Anyway.

I'm sure everybody wants to see some pictures of Jasmine Gosnell now that this rumor has hit the surface. The two were spotted together in Hawaii in this series of photos below.

Friends Stand United Gang

FSU (Friends Stand United), is a gang that orginated to eliminate anti racist gangs, mainly from punk rock shows. The gang was founded by Elgin James, who has now become something of an underground celebrity because of it.

When the gang started it was made up mostly of people with Irish, African, or Puerto Rican heritage. They were usually outnumbered by the racist gangs (neo nazi skinheads) but would compensate by being extremely violent towards them. They used weapons such as hammers, cueballs in socks, and had once even used a human thigh bone. 

Eventually, racist gangs became obsolete at punk scene shows.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Cancer

Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the United States Supreme Court has had surgery today after a diagnosis that showed she had pancreatic cancer.

This very often deadly cancer was fortunately found at an early stage. Ginsburg will remain in the hospital for a week or a bit over according to her surgeon Dr. Murray Brennan.

Ruth Ginsburg is 75 years old and has been a justice since 1993. She is one of the liberal justices that has spoken up about the often conservative stance the Supreme Court holds.

Angie Everhart Reality Show

Is she serious?

Angie Everhart is going to be a mom soon. She is 14 weeks pregnant with a man that she refuses to name. She claims that the dad is a nice guy and is excited about the new child on the way. Apparently they are not a couple and he is not famous.

Everhart was previously in a relationship with Joe Pesci until last April; if you can picture that.

So now she is talking about having her own reality show starring herself being a s

ingle mom. Her angle is "I decided to do a show about me being a single, strong, healthy, and good spirited woman who is having a baby on her own. I want to show the positive aspects of women who do it on their own." Good intentions, but will anybody really want to watch it? My guess is that it will last for one season. Who knows though, maybe Angie Everhart is extremely entertaining and interesting to people.

Lux Interior Died

Lux Interior died today at a hospital in Glendale, California due to a heart condition that he had been living with. He was 62 years old. Not 52 like Billboard claims.

He was the lead man of The Cramps, a band that was formed in 1976 and became part of the downtown New York punk rock scene. They were like a rockabilly punk combo band, known to be an influence for the White Stripes.

Lux Interior's real name was Erick Lee Purkhiser.

Trent Richardson Signing

So where did he go? He was going to go to Alabama right? 

Trent Richardson stuck with the plan. He claims that his reason for joining up with Alabama is due to him being friends with most of the players on the team. 

Richardson was a wanted player by many schools. He is among the best high school running backs in the entire nation.  Even football star Emmitt Smith talked to Richardson; ultimately telling him to choose what school is best for him. Smith had graduated from the same school as Richardson along with having the same coach 22 years ago.

Obama Signs SCHIP Bill

The State Children's Health Insurance Program is underway after Barack Obama signed the bill. (SCHIP Bill)

This popular health insurance program is put in place to aide low-income children. Obama says this is the first step into healthcare reform. "This is a down payment on my commitment to cover every single American." says Barack. This will now cover about 4.1 million children that aren't covered. This program has already been going on, the bill simply extends it.

So as in first step... you should note that this step has already been taken before. Lets see some new steps in healthcare! I'm not an expert in politics or health insurance, but there is plenty of work to be done. Lets not get ahead of ourselves Obama. The public isn't stupid.

Regardless, this is good news, and does show that he has done something among other things right so far.

Vantage Credit Union E-Mail Scam

There is a phishing E-mail scam going around claiming to be Vantage Credit Union. Be aware of this if you have received any e-mails from the company. There is a chance it isn't actually from them, but from a con-artist. 

Banks have been targets of phishing scams for several years now, with a recent increase since 2008. Over ten million dollars total have been taken from bank accounts already.

Fortunoff Fine Jewelry Bankruptcy

Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection they say? Looks like another one is going down. Fortunoff Fine Jewelry and Silverware LLC have made statements claiming they are considering filing for bankruptcy today. Making it the second time in two years that Fortunoff would have sought bankruptcy.

The company is currently having talks with other companies in order to liquidate most of its product.

Already, the Fortunoff store on 57th Street in New York is going to be closed and moving over to take over the Lord and Taylor on Fifth Avenue.

Poveglia Island Ghosts

Dubbed as one of the Scariest Places on Earth, Poveglia is an Island in between Venice and Lido, Italy. Back when the plague was running rampant through the region, people infected were shipped off to Poveglia in order to keep the general population healthy.

This unfortunate history for the island gives it its haunted reputation. Over 160,000 people are assumed to have died on the island from plague (black death) related illness. If you are looking to visit a place with paranormal activity, this may be on the to do list!

Dr. Trent Pierce Car Bomb

Dr. Trent Pierce from West Memphis, Arkansas is now critically injured due to his car exploding either while he was in it or near it. This took place this morning of February 4th, 2009. The bomb went off at his home at Avalon and Cooper.

In the beginning police said there wasn't any foul play. Obviously there was since it has been determined that a bomb caused the explosion. Dr. Trent Pierce has been a well respected doctor in the community and there were not any known threats on his life.

According to neighbors, the explosion was so large that it could be felt up to a mile away. Car pieces were found hundreds of feet away from the vehicle. Dr. Pierce is sufferi

ng from burns to his hands and feet along with extensive injuries. He was airlifted to MED in extremely critical condition.

At the moment the FBI and ATF are investigating the scene.

Katie Wright Baby

Katie Wright and her boyfriend Hank Azaria are going to be having a baby boy according to Hank's rep. 

Katie Wright is a former actress now training to be a family therapist. She has been dating Azaria for two years now and his in her second trimester of pregnancy. This will be the first child for both of them.

Remember the girl from Idle Hands that wasn't Jessica Alba? No? That was Katie Wright.

Eddie Schwartz Died

One of the top rated radio hosts in Chicago, Eddie Schwartz, has died at the age of 62 most likely due to kidney and or heart problems. He was from the Southeast Side of Chicago and died in a nursing home in Waukegan.

Eddie Schwartz was a man that loved Chicago and concentrated on the local issues to the best of his ability on his radio show. He was the founder of the "Good Neighbor Food Drive" in order to provide some aide towards the city's poor.

Batleth Robberies

What would you do if a man came into your convenience store weilding a weapon that looks a lot like a sword? There is a chance that he would successfully rob your store because you don't want any trouble. Or if you are one of those crazy guys from SpikeTV you can get your shotgun out from behind the counter and tell the guy to get the hell out of your store.

This is where the story gets crazy. A man robbed two stores in Colorado Springs using a Star Trek Klingon weapon called a Batleth. The man that used this Batleth weapon was wearing a black mask, black jacket, and blue jeans. Both of the robberies took place at 7-11 stores.

This is what the Officer would look like if he were trying to stop the man with a Batleth of his own.

What is the deal? This guy was supposed to play for LSU!

It was only a few hours ago that DeAngelo Benton said that he was going to LSU as a matter of fact. However, this Wide Receiver has signed with the Auburn Tigers instead. He had committed to Louisiana just two years ago but didn't qualify academically (you have to be fairly stupid not to qualify for a sport due to academic ability).

Thats it folks, he is playing for Auburn now.

Harry Markopolis Madoff Whistleblower

The video below is of Harry Markopolis testifying before the House Financial subcommittee that the warnings he gave about Bernie Madoff to the Securities and Exchange Commission went unheeded. He claims he gave these warnings in the year 2000.

The judge even mentions that the guys life is in jeapordy. Pretty big stuff.

Miley Cyrus Asian Picture

Critics are now attacking Miley Cyrus for a recent picture that depicts her making slanted eyes in order to imitate the Asian race. The picture under all of the scrutiny is below.

As you can see in the photo, she is the girl in the middle dragging her eyes out ouf their sockets.

Porsche Foxx Fire

Porsche Foxx, a former radio personality has been labled a "person of interest" after a condo fire occured in Atlanta. She was questioned about the fire by authorities.

The location of the fire was the Mallory Park Townhomes in the 100 block of Bagby Court in Union City. It occured at around 2:30 a.m.. The fire took its toll and completely destroyed one of the units along with doing significant damage to another. A resident in the complex suffered from second degree burns.

The fire marshal that claims Foxx is a person of interest is Keith Padgett. Foxx's real name is Stephanie Calhoun. She and Tony Matthews are the only people of interest at the time.

According to witnesses Foxx was around the scene of the fire, however she denies being in the area at the time.

Spectrum Brands Bankruptcy

Spectrum Brands, a company known for making Rayovac batteries and Spectracide lawn-care products is filing for bankruptcy. This is a move the will be neccessary for the company to fix its debt. There are about $10.1 billion in assets for the company along with $4.4 billion in debt. According to the filing there are less than 10,000 creditors with claims against Spectrum Brands.

Among some of the products this company makes are Remington Razors, Cutter Insect Repellent and Nature's Miracle Pet Care products.

50 Cent and Rick Ross Beef

50 Cent and Rick Ross have had an on going beef as many people who follow the "rap game" already know. On the New York radio station, Hot 97, the two rappers dissed eachother back and forth. 50 Cent has said that Rick Ross will not be able to recover "from what I've already done.".

Just this weekend on the official 50 Cent website, ThisIs50.com, there were even more insults geared towards Rick Ross. One of which called him Officer Ricky, since he was once a correction officer before becoming a famous rapper. Another insult included details about 50's relationship with Tia Kemp, a mother of one of Ross' children.

The 50 beef with Lil Wayne has not really had that much of a response, therefore this Ross beef seems to be all the fuel he has got in the rap drama department.

Langerado 2009 Rumors

The Langerado music festival has caused some buzz and some disappointment for many today. The festival which was scheduled for March 6-8 has been rumored to have been cancelled. 

UPDATE : The rumors are found to be true. The official website for the Langerado Festival of 2009 claims that the event is cancelled due to "sluggish ticket sales".

There was quite a line-up for the festival as well. Featuring acts such as Snoop Dogg, Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Ryan Adams and a bunch more.

Citigroup Sues All Citi Pawn Shop

Citigroup is creating a lawsuit against All Citi Pawn Shop for copyright infringement due to having a similar logo. All Citi is a pawn shop located in Brooklyn, New York. The accusation is that the pawn shop is using the same Citi abbreviation and a red arc in its logo, which ends up being extremely similar to the banks icon.

So what better way to get through the financial crisis than to gain all of the profits All Citi has earned since it has used its flashy "new" logo!

Bob Kay, the manager of the pawn shop says "What can I tell you? It's crazy. They're going wild for a little art that I put up. Theirs is a moon shape, mine is a V-shape, but I've already taken it down."

Citigroup has said on the matter "as a matter of course, we work to protect the value of our trademarks."

It seems as if it would be enough just to ask the obviously smaller company to take the logo down, rather than seek their profits. Seems like bad business to me if the other company was unaware of the copyright infrindgement.

So how old is David Brenner? He has been lying about his age for almost 50 years now. However, this morning on the Howard Stern show he finally told the truth about his age and birthday. At least we are pretty sure this time!

He claims that he was born on February 4th, 1936. That means he will turn 73 tomorrow.

Recently a picture of what people are claiming is Santonio Holmes has surfaced on the internet. Well thats fairly normal right? A picture of an NFL player online... wait.... oh god no..... he's not wearing clothes. What the hell?

Apparently this picture comes from a website called xesalley where women brag about who they have had relations with and then post pictures.

If you are looking to actually see Santonio Holmes naked, sorry, I don't have the desire to see it or post it. You will have to do a search for it including the tag nsfw. That means Not Safe For Work. I imagine you will have better luck that way.

Special K Bar Recall

The Special K Bar is the next victim of the recalls we haev been seeing lately. Kellogg Co. has announced on Monday that it will be recalling some Keebler Cookies and Special K Meal Bars. This is due to the salmonella outbreak growing.

The Keebler cookies that are being recalled are the Soft Batch Homestyle Chocolate Chunk Cookies and the Oatmeal Raisin Cookies in 2.5 ounce packages. They include a best if used before June 30 stamp. I would personally have a hard time throwing these away. Those cookies are delicious.

The Special K Protein Meal Bar that is being recalled is only in the Honey Almond flavor 6 and 8 count packages with a best if used before Feb 1 2010 stamp.

No illnesses have been reported due to these particular products, this is just a precautionary step. These two foods do not have any ingredients from the company at the center of the salmonella investigation. However, they were produced on the same line as products that could have had salmonella.

Buddy Holly Plane Crash

The Day The Music Died, is what it is now popularly referred to. The plane crash that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "Big Bopper" Richardson. Roger Peterson, the pilot, lost his life as well.

These were three very promising performers in Rock and Roll. They would have certainly been legends if the plane crash had not happened.

Fidelity Investments Layoffs 2009

The worlds largest Mutual Fund Firm, Fidelity Investments, will be doing another round of layoffs this Tuesday in order to cut its work force by up to 7 percent. According to Anne Crowley, a Fidelity spokeswoman "Today and over the next several weeks, we will proceed with the second layoff we announced last fall".

These 2009 layoffs are most likely due to the economic crisis that caused investors to pull billions of dollars out of mutual funds last year.

These job cuts will likely be worse than the ones in November, which left 1,300 people laid off.

Millard Fuller Dies

A millionaire entrepreneur who was anything but greedy, named Millard Fuller died at age 74 on Tuesday. He had given all of his money away to help found the Christian charity for building houses called Habitat for Humanity.

He died after being taken to the emergency room around 3 a.m.. As of now the cause of death is unknown. The symptoms were chest pains, headache, and difficulty swallowing according to his wife Linda Fuller.

Jimmy Carter has once said about Fuller "one of the most extraordinary people I have ever known."

Christian Bale Blow Up

Here is something you may not already know. Christian Bale has an anger problem. That is right, the talented actor has recently been caught on audio tape screaming for about four minutes at Shane Hurlbut (the director of photography for the new Terminator movie).

The audio is swarming with profanity from Bale. He also threatens to attack Shane along with claiming he will quit the movie if the guy is not fired.

Now, I don't act in high profile movies or anything, and I'm not attempting to justify Bale's behaviour. But I imagine he is under quite a lot of stress if he is going on crazy tirades like this.

The Institute for Human Continuity

Sounds interesting doesn't it? Sony has a new movie coming out that will feature the end of the world in 2012. So the movie has a made up institution called the IHC. This organization is said to have been around for 30 years in order to insure that humans will continue to survive after "the end of the world".  Yes, for those of you that are wondering, it is a hoax. Sorry to ruin it :(.

Ahhh, viral marketing at its finest. At the moment I am writing this, the website (http://www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org/) has almost 4,000,000 page views. That is pretty intense considering it just went up today. 

When you go to the website, it looks very professional and most people are wondering if this is real, or just some hoax. It was well made and will certainly draw a ton of attention. Be sure to enter the survival lottery to insure your best chance of survival possible!

Jay Electronica Baby

Jay Electronica and Erykah Badu had a baby girl today. The birth was broadcast in realtime on Erykah's twitter blog. Jay is a rapper, and Erykah is a musician. The award winning singer gave updates in between contractions. While she was giving childbirth Jay Electronica took over and began updating the blog.

Rather than a conventional birth at a hospital, the two decided to have a home birth with a midwife.

This is the first child for Jay Electronica. However, it is the third child for Erykah Badu, with a third father as well. Who will be the next rapper?

Comcast Super Bowl Porn

Tucson, Arizona got a bit more than what they expected from the Super Bowl this year. There was an interruption in broadcast that caused a pornographic video to air over the Super Bowl for less than 30 seconds. Comcast believes that this was a malicious attack done on purpose rather than a technical difficulty. 

Currently the matter is being investigated by the FCC as well as authorities. At intitial investigation the company has reported that its technical systems functioned correctly while the incident occured. This means somebody was able to interrupt the broadcast. 

According to reports the only people effected were those who were watching it in standard definition rather than high definition. Great.... another reason to get Hi Def! I hate that stinking slogan.

Bart Whitaker Story

Kent Whitaker is a man that knows loss very well. He was on the Oprah Winfrey show to talk about his son, Bart Whitaker. Bart had hired an assassin to kill Kent's wife and other son. His motive? To collect the insurance money from his family's death. This took place in Sugar Land, Texas in December 2003.

Kent has a book called Murder by Family that describes the tragedies that took place. Kent forgives his son and the hired gun man.

Obama Breaks First Promise

Did Barack Obama really break his first promise. According to a few sources he has broken a few already. Perhaps we could consider Guantanamo Bay being closed a sort of broken promise. While he is shutting it down, the CIA still has permission to perform 'secret' interviews in particular prisons in Romania and other countries in Europe.

Now there is another promise people are talking about. Obama claimed that he would post laws on the White House website 5 days before signing them. This would allow the public to discuss the laws about to be signed. However, he has not been doing that. So is that a broken promise?

 Maybe it just seemed like a good idea at the time.

We all know politicians break promises; lets just cross our fingers and hope he keeps the ones that matter the most.

Michael Phelps Pot Pic

Michael Phelps has recently issued a formal apology for behavior he deems "regrettable" recently after a British tabloid printed a picture of him smoking from a marijuana bong. This picture was taken after he had won the medals and decided to take a vacation from the pool. It was taken at a party at the University of South Carolina.

Obviously marijuana is a banned substance. Luckily for Phelps, he will still be able to compete in future events due to the drug being only banned as an "in-competition" substance.

Michael Phelps is having a tough time being a role model for those around him. It would probably be better off if this weren't public information. However, everybody needs to make a buck off of it now I'm sure.

Jennifer Hudson Lip Synching?

What is the deal? There is a large amount of people that believe Jennifer Hudson was lip synching the National Anthem. Perhaps their HD televisions were out of sync with audio and video.
