There are hundreds of people trapped on an Ice Floe on Lake Erie at the moment. One person has died in the rescue effort process.
Currently there is a rescue operation taking place.
The Ice Floe is 8 miles long and formed near Locust Point, Ohio which is just east of Toledo. According to reports at least 100 people but up to 500 people were stranded on the floe. Due to currents being fairly strong this time of year, rescue teams are trying their best to get the
m back to safety in a timely manner.
Hovercrafts and Helicopters are currently being used in the rescue operation.
