Mystery Card Game

So you have found a card, lucky you. 

I will first explain why I am doing this. It is simply an experiment to see just how many cards will get out there, and how big of a response this will get.

What is in it for you?

If you have the largest amount of points at the end of this game, you win. The first session of the game will end on December 31st.

What do I have to do?

Leave a comment on this blog post with the face and value of the card you found, INCLUDE the codename as well. This is vital. Please include your e-mail in the field for doing so, so I know who to e-mail if you end up winning.

Then what?

Obtain a deck of cards, write the internet address of this page at the top, then come up with a codename and put it at the bottom. Now, put them in public places that you think they are likely to be found. You can give them to friends if you prefer.

How do points work?

People will leave comments on this page if they have found one of your cards. I will be keeping a tally of how many points each codename has through updates on this blog.

On December 31st I will announce the winner, and depending on how big the response and how successful this activity ends up being, I will be giving them a cash prize. I'm assuming it will be a big success so likely $100s will be given away. If it is a huge success $1000. This is pretty easy to win, so get to it! I will also consider giving prizes to 2nd and 3rd.

Tony Franklin Fired

Tony Franklin was fired from his position as Auburn's offensive coordinator according to a source that had revealed this information on the afternoon of Wednesday.

Hired in December of 2007, Franklin was added to the team's staff only a few days after the AU offensive coordinator Al Borges had been let go by Tommy Tuberville.

Franklin had been with Troy for the past two years and was brought to the team to run the spread offense, also known as the Tony Franklin System. This system is used across the country in high school programs.

The offense run by Franklin has not been up to par. The Tigers are 4-2, 2-2 in the SEC.

The firing was confirmed by the University at 3:44 p.m. after a press release saying that the duties of Franklin have been relieved upon immediate effect.

Tuberville is quoted saying, "After evaluating where we are at this point of the season offensively, I felt it was in the best interest of the Auburn football program to make this change. I'm not satisfied with where we are and I am personally going to take a larger role with the offense the remainder of the season. We are going to work harder than ever to make sure we consistently improve as we move forward."

In the SEC and country their offense is near the bottom. Ranked at 104, Auburn has a total of 309.2 yards per game, 104.98 pass efficiency, and 29.7 percent in third down conversions.

Paul Newman Cancer Update

Paul Newman died at the age of 83 of cancer just this Friday. He was known for his roles in movies such as Cool Hand Luke, Hud, and The Color of Money. He died near Westport in his farmhouse with family and close friends.

Newman's career in theater and television started in the 1950s. He became a legend among actors and performers. 10 Oscar nominations, 50 major film roles such as Exodus, Butch Cassidy, Sundance Kid, The Verdict, etc. 

After this news, there seems like nothing better to do than to rent a bunch of Paul Newman movies and appreciate his fantastic work over the years.

Matthew Tryson Bryant

Tragic news has just occured in Tampa Bay for the Buccaneers player, Matt Bryant. His 3 month old son, Matthew Tryson Bryant died in his sleep on Wednesday morning in Tampa.

Jon Gruden, the coach of Tampa Bay, commented that the news is shocking and a horrible tragedy the the Bryant family. He also commented that he is not sure that Bryant will be playing in the next game, which is against the Green Bay Packers. That information should be revealed later this week.

Matthew Bryant Sr. is 33 and in his fourth season with the Bucs. He has kicked the third longest field goal in NFL history, 62 yards.

Let our prayers be with him and his family through the times.

Dewey The Library Cat

So who is Dewey The Library Cat? He is a cat named Dewey Readmore Books that became a resident at the Spencer Public Library. It all started when he was put into the book return during a winter night in 1988. The staff then chose to keep the cat. The board approved and Dewey was taken to the Vet for all the routine procedures.

Dewey quickly became well loved by everybody that visited the library.

On November 29th, 2006 he died due to a stomach tumor. He was 19 years and 11 days old at the time of his death. Quite a long life for a cat.  The library says that they may get another cat, however it just wont be the same without Dewey.

Heather Locklear Arrested

Heather Locklear was arrested this Saturday on suspicions of drunk driving. The arrest took place around Santa Barbara, California at about 8 p.m.. The actress is currently no longer in police custody.

This is not the first surprising news about Locklear. This past June she had checked into a center in Arizona for anxiety and depression. She went back to her home after a month at the Sierra Tucson treatment facility.

Drunk driving probably shouldn't be happening if depression was a problem less than 4 months ago.

Peter Cavalero Car Accident

A 17 year old boy by the name of Peter Cavalero died in a car crash while driving his 2004 Chevrolet Corvette. The crash occurred in Chest Township of New Jersey.
Peter was the captain of the West Morris-Mendham High School football team. He lost control of his car on Furnace Road just short of 6 p.m. His car hit a pole and flipped over according to Chief Adam Schuler.
Cavelero was going much faster than the 35 mph speed limit, he was however wearing a seatbelt.

Peter Cavalero will be remembered as "quiet and hard-working - a soup kitchen volunteer, a formidable linebacker, a math whiz, a loyal friend."

Aliza Shvarts Miscarriage Art

Just when you think things cant get any more controversial in the art world. Somebody goes and makes art out of their own abortion blood.
Aliza Shvarts of Yale University, is going to show her art project this Tuesday. The project will feature Shvarts' artificial inseminations and drug induced abortions. The art project will include a video documentary with recordings of her abortions. She collected the blood from the processes.
Aliza claims that her goal behind the project is to "spark conversation and debate on the relationship between art and the human body."
It could be assumed that Aliza Shvarts is legally insane.
If shock value is her goal, she is obviously achieving it. This is going to gain a lot of public attention due to how shocking it is.

Brienne Davis Dead

An inspector for NASCAR, Brienne Davis, died from injuries she suffered in a car crash on Tuesday near Huntersville, North Carolina. NASCAR has said "We are deeply saddened at the loss of NASCAR Sprint Cup official Brienne Davis. She was a key member of our team of inspectors and will be missed by the NASCAR community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends."
She was 28 years old.
Brienne had started working for NASCAR in 2004 as a race-day inspector of the carburetors and manifolds of the cars.

Myspace Girl Beaten By Cheerleaders

Six teenage girls attacked a 16 year old girl and taped it in hopes of it becoming a popular internet video. They did this because the victim, Victoria Lindsay, was "talking trash on myspace". This happened on March 30th. The girls somehow got her to come to a home in Lakeland, Florida, then confronted her and beat her severely.
One of the girls slammed Victoria's head into a wall until she became unconscious.
She then woke up on the couch, and was being beaten by the 6 girls while they continued to film the violent attack.
Two boys stood outside on guard while the attack took place. The eight teenagers involved have all been charged with felony battery and false imprisonment.
Three of the teenagers put Victoria in a car after the attack to another location. They are being charged with felony kidnapping. The victim has suffered a concussion, permanent hearing loss in one ear, and permanent vision impairment from one of her eyes according to new reports.
The girls that attacked her are all cheerleaders according to what can be heard in the video.
The criminals names are, Mercades Nichols, Brittini Hardcastle, April Cooper, Cara Murphy, Britney Mayes, Kayla Hassell, Zachary Ashley, and Stephen Schumaker.

Sam Adams Beer Recall

The company that brews Samuel Adams beers, Boston Beer Co., is recalling some of its beer due to bottles containing glass particles. They claim that there is a chance that there could be very small bits or grains of glass in about a quarter of a certain glass company's bottles.
This was discovered during a quality control operation at a Cincinnati brewery. There is only one manufacturing plant that is known to be causing this problem.
Fewer than 1 percent of the bottles coming from the faulty plant actually have the glass particles inside of them. If you are worried yourself as to whether you have a bottle that could be among the 1 percent, check the bottom of your bottle and look for the code N35 followed by an OI.This is the first time the Boston Beer Co. has ever had a recall.

Hulk Hogan's Girlfriend Jennifer McDaniel

Former wrestling superstar, Hulk Hogan has a new girlfriend named Jennifer McDaniel. Many people are curious as to what is going on between the two.
Many people believe his new girlfriend looks exactly like his daughter. Which is causing people to talk a lot. Here is a photo of the new couple together.

Wrestlemania 24 Fireworks Video

Over 20 people were injured at Wrestlemania on Sunday due to out of control fireworks. All of which were fans. This all happened at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL. The majority of people hurt had minor burns due to the fireworks shooting into the crowd.
Only one person was taken to a hospital. Inspectors are working on reviewing the common safety procedures practiced.

Obama Wins Texas

The Texas delegate race has been won by Barack Obama. He ended up with a total of 99 delegates as opposed to Hillary Clinton's 94 delegates.

Democrats in Texas has a primary as well as a caucus.

Over 1 million Democrats showed up.

In the caucus system Obama won 38 delegates as opposed to Clinton's 29.

The current delegate tally is as follows, Obama - 1,631 Clinton - 1,501

Obama Wants To Stop Votes?

According to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama's campaign is aiming towards the stopping of more votes. This has to do with his campaign wanting Clinton to drop out of the presidential race. Obama's campaign called her accusation laughable.

The idea behind this "prevention" would be to keep the remaining states from being involved in selecting a democratic candidate for the parties nominee.

Clinton has said "My take on it is a lot of Senator Obama's supporters want to end this race because they don't want people to keep voting. That's just the opposite of what I believe. We want people to vote. I want the people of Montana to vote, don't you?"

Obama is currently in the lead with 1,631 delegates as opposed to Clinton's 1,501.

The outcome will most likely never reach a 2,024 delegates on Obama's side. So the result will end up being decided by about 800 superdelegates.

Emilio Navaira Bus Crash

The Tejano singer, Emilio Navaira has had a severe brain injury after his tour bus collided with traffic barrels in Houston on an interstate highway. Dr. Alex Valadka has said, "There is a chance he may not make it. Everyone needs to understand that right upfront. That's how bad it is." Valadka is the director of neurotrauma at the Memorial Hermann at the Texas Medical Center.
Two hours of operation took place to remove a blood clot in the brain of Navaira.
Emilio is 45 years old and belongs to a band. Six members of his band were injured. Only one of the other members is hospitalized.
He is no longer in a coma, however the hospital is still unsure whether he will come out of this tragedy alive. Permanent damage is a possibility.

Mary Ann Childers Laid Off

Do you tune in to Chicago news on Channel 2 everyday? If so, you probably noticed that Mary Ann Childers is gone. Mark Malone was gone as well. About 18 people that work at WBBM Ch. 2 were laid off and will not have renewed contracts.
This is due to the cutting of costs at the station. Other people that have been laid off are Katie McCall, Rafael Romo, Vicki Zwart, Caryn Brooks, Harvey Moshman, and Phil Hayes.
The president has said "There's certainly some staff reductions that are taking place, we're not unique in the economic enviroments we're all involved in. The Tribune, the Sun-Times, Newsweek, ABC in network news, many, many others haev gone through these reviews of staffing and resources in order to adjust to the economic conditions."
The total number of people "fired" has not been revealed.

Those Two Girls Are Gross

Of all the ridiculous things that have come up on the internet, this one has to be the grossest and most ridiculous I've seen. It is hard to imagine that two girls would do the kind of things that these girls do to each other in the video.

Now think about all of the web traffic that the hundreds of web sites that posted about this video received. Millions upon millions of visits on some of the pages I'm sure. I myself received well over 1 million hits on the topic. I am willing to bet that the girls that took part in the video didn't even make 1% of the total amount of profit that people made off of this video. Just something to think about I suppose.

Teri Garr Revenge On Cheating Boyfriend

Teri Garr decided she would get some revenge on her cheating boyfriend. She found out her boyfriend was cheating on her from an anonymous call from a woman saying "Is this Teri Garr? Because I've been sleeping with your boyfriend since August.

The woman that called only told Teri because the boyfriend was also with another woman besides Teri Garr, and the caller.

The next step she took was to get all of her boyfriends belongings and put it in a box. She had baby pictures of him as well, those went straight to the box. She also oddly put a hammer in the box.

She then drove to his house and smashed all of his windows with her hammer. This all took place in 1990.

Garr is crazy!
